Sweet Flavors and Friends

Sweet Flavors and Friends

This was a great week in the roasting room, but we're sad to roast our last production batch of Ngandu. Going on taste alone, this has been a staff favorite and we know it will be missed. Luckily, there's more tasty bean.

We've been enjoying Yucra quite a bit with our recent roast tweaks, and Kanzu isn't far behind Ngandu in the list of all time favorites. Our changes in the roast profile brought out the hazelnut, almond chocolate flavors which are now balanced by some lively fruit notes and a crazy sweet, juicy finish. Beyond the coffees we're currently roasting, one thing we're particularly excited about this year is our growing relationship with the AProCafé cooperative in the Atitlán region of Guatemala. This year we're helping the co-op finance some organic implements for its growers to combat coffee leaf rust. We're also working to expand the micro-lot program as well as strengthening our relationships with our importers.

Our friends from Mistobox swung thru Denver a couple weeks back and joined us for a public cupping. They lived to blog about their adventure; read it here. Super sweet folks, those Mistobox-ers.
