Stellar Summer Espresso

Stellar Summer Espresso

It was great to see some of you at Barista Nation Denver and the throw down at our Larimer shop. We came away from the event with some new perspectives on coffee and new friends and hope you had an equally rewarding time if you were able to make it.

After playing around with a few different recipes, we decided that this version of Phantom Limb should be a showcase for everything we love about Ethiopian coffees. As such, we settled on a 50/50 blend of Ardi and YirgZ, two of our favorite coffees of the season.

This is an incredible summer espresso: light but creamy, bright, and refreshing. Our shots have been incredibly floral with intense but balanced lemon brightness and underlying flavors of raspberry, tropical fruit, and gingersnap. We've also used a similar blend in our shops for brewed coffee, and whether hot or iced, the berry and chocolate notes from Ardi and melony florals of YirgZ combine into juicy watermelon flavors that are a different, but equally tasty sum of its parts. If you're looking for more of an every person's espresso for lattes and mochas, Blue Orchid is your better bet, and that's why we always offer both blends as safe and an adventurous espressos in our cafes.
