Mario Alarcon and his farm, Finca Monte de Oro, have been part of the Huck family for 3 years now, and his Caturra variety coffees have been some of the best, cleanest, and most consistent offerings we've roasted, year-after-year.
This past January, before covid turned the world upside-down, four of the Huck crew had the pleasure of visiting Mario, and were lucky enough to taste all of Mario's coffees side-by-side. His natural and black-honey processed Caturra are delicious in their own right, but his natural Gesha was undeniably stunning.
We bought just a small amount of this coffee to help Huck baristas shine on the barista competition stage, and did not initially plan to sell this. But, no surprise, coronavirus cancelled this year's barista competitions, so y'all get the chance to enjoy this special coffee. One of the few upsides to this topsy-turvy year.
Monte de Oro Natural Gesha's fruity, juicy, and complex, with notes of black cherry, Shiraz red wine, and fruit snacks. We enjoy brewing this alongside our natural/honey caturra from the same farm, or next to the equally-special washed Gesha from Israel Hernandez in Colombia.

We’re excited to relaunch our coffee club with a fancy new jar!
Our hope is that the coffee jar refill program encourages more home coffee brewing and also gives you a break in the price of our whole bean coffee, while also being earth conscious! On top of saving a bag every time you buy retail, you’ll also have the opportunity to taste our seasonal coffees, and share the experience with your friends and family at home.
Please take note that the jar plus refills are for local Colorado-area residents who can PICK UP IN STORE (NO SHIPPING).

- C00l beans! Please remember that coffee is light-sensitive so store the jar away from direct sunlight and keep in a cool place.
- Hand wash the jar.
- We'll be offering a specific selection of single origin coffees each week. We encourage you to try the coffee we're offering and if you don't see the coffee you want, please come back the following week and it'll be a different offering. We will not have every single coffee in stock and available for you to fill but over the course of the next few months, you'll have the chance to try all our offerings. This will encourage you to try the different beans we have available if you haven't already. They're all so delicious, it's hard to pick a favorite!

This design comes from the brain of Lisa Wright of Obsesso Processo, and shows the connection of people through coffee -- and is meant to feel celebratory!
Right now, in the moment we find ourselves in, maybe it’s a hopeful vision of the future & something to work towards.
Our buddies at A Small Print Shop printed this bright, poppy color palette onto a soft, vintage-feeling Alternative t-shirt and we hope it demonstrates inclusivity, as well as produce good vibes.
