Ethiopia Aramo

Bright, floral, complex and full of stone fruit flavors, the Aramo Cooperative delivers another dope washed Ethiopia to the Huck roastery!

Aramo is one of the 22 cooperatives that make up the Yirgacheffe Coffee Farmers Cooperative Union, and we’ve been roasting up their coffee since 2019. YCFCU is a longstanding leader in organic farming and sustainable agriculture in Ethiopia, and while Huck roasts coffees from both private washing stations and cooperatives, we’re always happy to support YCFCU. For the second year in a row, we’re featuring coffees from Aramo in both our Phantom Limb blend and our single origin lineup. All of the coffees we sourced this year are delicious, but this single origin lot got a touch of extra sorting, and is the creme of our Aramo creme this year.

The Aramo Cooperative sits in the kebele (village) of the same name, above the famous Yirgacheffe woreda. Over 2000 farmers deliver cherry to the cooperative, where the coffee is depulped, washed, dried, stored, and sorted under the watchful eye of cooperative manager Negusse Hordfa. In addition to Negusse and cooperative members’ attention, Aramo is one of the highest cooperatives in the region, with farms ranging from 1800-2000+ meters above sea level. Altitude is far from the only factor, but it certainly contributes to the amazing flavors in the cup

We’re tasting ripe nectarine, rose-dominated florals, lemondrop candy  in this gem from Aramo, and are stoked to showcase this coffee as our second washed Ethiopia of 2022!
